Job Description

Manager (Ecosystem) in the Office of the Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise) [Ref. B/904/03]

The appointee will provide extensive support to the Ecosystem Team of the Office. The team aims to build up a comprehensive start-up ecosystem in the territory and beyond by fostering partnership with stakeholders including governments, incubators, investors, start-ups, entrepreneurs, etc.

Duties

Main duties include:

  1. Develop and manage partnerships within the start-up ecosystem in the territory and beyond;
  2. Lead and synergise start-up events and competitions to increase programme exposure and attract innovative start-ups and entrepreneurs;
  3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance support services for start-ups;
  4. Identify opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing with other incubation programmes;
  5. Liaise with co-investors and facilitate the investment process for HK Tech 300 teams;
  6. Represent CityUHK professionally at relevant events and conferences to promote the start-up ecosystem; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Travelling outside of Hong Kong is required.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree or above with at least 10 years’ relevant work experience;
  2. Competence in strategic thinking and planning with excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) and interpersonal skills;
  3. Excellent business development and networking skills;
  4. Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for supporting start-ups;
  5. Experience in working at academic or corporate institutions would be an advantage; and
  6. Demonstrated experience in starting and managing start-up ecosystem partnerships, and experience in working with technology-based entrepreneurs, start-ups and investors is preferred.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
