Assistant Buyer (Bags)

The Opportunity – Assistant Buyer

Solent Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer - you will be well versed in the FMCG industry, ideally with experience in H&B or Household products including Bags and be driven and thrive in a fast-paced role.

You will be working closely with the Buying Manager on a daily basis and traveling to trade fairs frequently in peak season, great communication skills are a must! Flexibility for hours is required for this role which works closely with the UK team.

Key Responsibilities

• Building strong cross-department links to ensure all aspects of the business are engaged in successful delivery of projects.
• Managing critical path from product sign off to shipment.
• Working closely with UK commercial team on tracking the budgets.
• Closely tracking on the forecast and inventory management.
• Developing and managing project plans to ensure timescales are met and are clearly communicated to all manufacturers and suppliers.
• Reviewing all completed projects to ensure that improvement actions are taken forward into new projects.
• Driving changes in response to business needs including continuous improvement to procedures governing all the above

Experience

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar project management role
• High diploma or above with merchandising experience. Project management experience is a plus.
• Solid experience in product development & life cycle/product management of Health & Beauty/ Households/ Bags
• Fluency in Chinese , English and Mandarin
• Good understanding of the manufacturing process.
• Effective business and personal skills to build relationships with all stakeholders
• Good knowledge of methodologies and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects
• Innovative with strong passion in driving changes and continuous improvements
• Self confidence in front of factories, oversea offices and customers
• Able to communicate and conduct presentations well in English
• Enjoy travelling to factories in Asia Regions
