Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Overseeing the day-to-day running and ensuring smooth operation of the laboratories under the School, including management of inventory, maintenance and repair of equipment;
- Supporting in the establishment and organization of laboratory spaces within the Industrial Centre, ensuring that all equipment and materials are properly arranged and functional for teaching and research activities.
- Managing the administrative, financial and human resources matters of the laboratories, including training and supervising technical and administrative staff;
- Conducting laboratory inspections and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements;
- Handling laboratory safety matters and ensuring the appropriate laboratory safety practice is adopted;
- Supporting laboratory courses and research projects; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the School.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized degree (preferably a higher degree) in Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline with relevant post-qualification experience, preferably gained in tertiary institutions;
- A track record of solid leadership experience in managing industrial centers or core facilities.
- Advanced understanding of industrial center operations, including safety protocols, equipment management, and facility maintenance.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently under pressure; and
- A good command of English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
