Assistant Officer(Ref. 241128010-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide administrative support to taught postgraduate programmes, including but not limited to admission exercise, class time-tabling, subject registration and co-ordination of thesis examination;
(b) provide secretarial and administrative support to committees and meetings;
(c) assist in the organisation of departmental activities/events;
(d) assist in compiling financial reports and statistical reports;
(e) supervise junior staff;
(f) liaise with academic departments or other central administrative offices and external organisations; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree;
(b) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;
(c) have good computer literacy, especially in using Microsoft Office software and Chinese word processing;
(d) have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills;
(e) be attentive to details;
(f) be able to work independently and proactively;
(g) have a positive working and learning attitude; and
(h) be a good team player.
Preference will be given to those with three or more years of relevant working experience gained in tertiary institutions.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
