Chemist (Softlines Textile and Garment Testing)

Key responsibilities:

• Evaluate the requests on chemical testing services mainly from client’s programs and regulations
• Assign appropriate chemical testing services to laboratory according to client’s specification, job application form and the testing samples
• Evaluate and verify the requests on chemical testing services from customers, the contract testing services and respond to customers with accurate and relevant information in compliance with the laboratory/ accreditation requirements
• Responsible for implementation of laboratory quality system including but not limited to sampling, assigning test methods and equipment:
• Interpret test results and observations independently and identity test trends on chemical testing services
• Maintain and ensure the up-to-date practice from relevant international standards, meeting both regulatory requirements and customer’s needs
• Determine and apply appropriate statistical technique for analyzing valid measurement data.
• Able to stand by or perform the job duties of other colleagues including those with lower grade
• Perform other duties/ tasks as required

Requirements:

• Degree or above in Chemistry or related disciplines
• 3 years’ relevant experience are required for higher Diploma or above
• 3 years' relevant experience, with minimum 1 year experience in laboratory supervision, operation and service program development
• Knowledge of HOKLAS system and ISO/IEC 17025 will be a good advantage 
• Initiative, organized and able to work independently
• Good command of English and Chinese including Mandarin
