Data Platform Technical Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking a Technical Lead to spearhead our data platform project, focusing on the design and implementation of data integration solutions using Azure Synapse and related technologies.

Data Platform Development:

• Lead the design and implementation of data integration solutions using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and manage data extraction, ingestion and ETL processes from source systems
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to ensure efficient data management and reporting.
• Implement data modeling and schema design for efficient querying and performance optimization.
• Work with Data Flow and Mapping Data Flow in Azure Data Factory for data transformation and integration tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, flat files) into the data warehouse, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Specifically, enforce design and implementation practices throughout the implementation cycle to minimize potential efforts or impacts of future data source changes, such as modular architectures or abstraction layers

Collaboration and Mentorship:

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the data and other operational ecosystems.

Analytics and BI:

• Utilize business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to provide actionable insights based on data analysis.
• Develop dashboards and reports to support decision-making processes across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in database management, system integration and technical architecture
• Proven experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, SQL, and ETL processes
• Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with ERP systems or operational systems and experience in implementation or customization is and advantage
• Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate with diverse teams.
