Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of IT to lead company initiatives and manage IT operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT, systems management, and technology trends, as well as the ability to align technology with organizational goals. This role is critical in ensuring our IT resources are efficient, effective, and secure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance business performance.
  • Assist in identifying innovations, technologies, and system solutions that enhance user experiences and support the adoption of new technologies aligned with the university's business strategy.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of the annual budget, ensuring prudent resource allocation and ongoing monitoring of expenditures in line with institutional priorities.
  • Oversee a portfolio of key IT projects, ensuring performance metrics are met and progress is regularly reported to executive leadership.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring systems and services are reliable, secure, and meet the needs of the organization.
  • Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources. Prepare and present budget proposals and reports to senior management and the owning company.
  • Oversee IT projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and protocols to protect organizational data and systems. Stay updated on security threats and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and ensure alignment with IT capabilities. Serve as a liaison between IT and other business units.

Other Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, recommend, plan, and implement IT capital and operational projects for the company including expenditure planning.
  • Lead the overall IT department and business units in all aspects.
  • Oversee all guest-facing technologies in the hotel and ensure reliable product performance, innovative service offerings, and deliver personalized and efficient support.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including scheduling and monitoring IT colleagues' attendance. Provide on-site support for special events as needed.
  • Ensure compliance, controls, and security are in place.
  • Ensure all maintenance contracts are reviewed and in place for all IT systems.
  • Maintain an inventory list for all IT equipment, including computers, laptops, and printers.
  • Conduct training and other IT-related training.
  • Ensure that the team consistently provides a high level of operational stability for property-based technology and high levels of service and support to colleagues and guests.
  • Maintain and promote core technology standards and adhere the best practices regarding property systems.
  • Ensure that Accor Technology Policies and Procedures are carried out, as outlined in the Systems Manager User Guide, including IT Data Protection services, Data Back-up, compliance, and security.
  • Facilitate owner-appointed auditors for annual IT audits.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related disciplines
  • Professional certifications in ITIL, Cyber Security, Project Management or other IT governance would be an added advantage.
  • At least 20 years of IT management experience, with the last 10 years in a senior leadership role, preferably running the department in a complex, multicultural organization.
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing large-scale end-to-end IT projects, including the adoption of innovative technologies to drive organizational success.
  • Strong ability to influence and support senior leaders, build relationships, and work across multiple departments to drive alignment on strategic IT initiatives.
  • Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and analytically, particularly in helping develop IT plans that align with organizational goals
  • Strong in innovation with the ability to consistently create new and better ways to support the NTU's mission and vision.
  • Strong track record in managing IT governance, audit, and compliance programs within large institutions.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, IT teams, and other key stakeholders.
