SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

Editorial Associate(Ref. 241023012-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) oversee journal publication and editorial office operation;

(b) edit, proofread and translate abstracts, manuscripts and research papers;

(c) monitor journal metrics and maintain close liaison with publishers, authors, reviewers, and editorial board members;

(d) create, develop and edit write-ups including executive messages, speeches, newsletters, brochures, proposals and reports;

(e) plan and organise marketing activities to expand the discoverability of refereed journals and other publications;

(f) plan, organise and support the School’s events as well as stakeholder engagement activities; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School, Editors-in-Chief or their delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Communications, Translation, English Language or a related discipline with at least five years of relevant experience;

(b) a good understanding of refereed journals as well as digital and print media publishing;

(c) excellent writing and editing skills in both English and Chinese, preferably with fluency in Putonghua; and

(d) a proactive, creative and analytical mindset that inspires others and drives the development of high-quality and innovative publications.

Preference will be given to those who have experience in journal management, video editing, photo shooting and/or digital marketing with knowledge of multimedia software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
