The appointee will work in the Finance and Development team under the Faculty and Planning Office, Faculty of Medicine. Duties include (a) leading a team to perform a spectrum of accounting and finance duties, including accounts transactions and scrutinization, budget planning, and procurement matters; (b) gatekeeping accounting transactions for compliance with University guidelines; (c) compiling reports and data analysis for financial planning and control; (d) liaising with internal and external stakeholders; (e) providing administrative and committee secretarial support; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned.

Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 8 years’ relevant post-qualification executive experience, with prior experience in tertiary education institutions/ public sector/ accounting firm will be an advantage; (iv) proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (v) proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; (vi) excellent communication skills, a strong sense of commitment and ownership, and attentiveness to figures and details; and (vii) self-motivated, organised and a collaborative team player. Those with less but at least 4 years’ relevant post-qualification executive experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer II. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test on Chinese and English proficiency.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
