The University is now looking for a high caliber candidate to join our electrical services unit of building services (operation & maintenance) team.
The appointee will participate in the operation and maintenance of the University’s electrical installations including low voltage and extra low voltage systems, closed circuit television system, building management system, manual and automatic fire alarm system, etc. to ensure they are operated and maintained in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.
The appointee is also expected to perform the following duties:
- Supervise in-house staff and service contractors;
- Liaise and coordinate with internal parties, end-users and services contractors on the planned maintenance, daily operation, replacement, improvement and upgrading works of electrical installations;
- Assist in implementing, testing and commissioning work of new projects;
- Engage in hands-on work on various electrical installations;
- Prepare reports using MS Office applications; and
- Perform shift duty and attend emergency duties.
Applicants should have a diploma/certificate in electrical engineering, building services engineering or related disciplines plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience. The applicants must have a valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker. A good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua), and proficiency in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word) are essential. Specialist on LV switch board, generator, UPS, busduct, WR2 work will be highly preferred. The ideal candidate should also have ability to work independently. Applicants with lower academic qualification but with extensive relevant work experience will also be considered. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefit including continuing education subsidy, annual leave, medical and dental benefits. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
