Full-time/Part-time Research Assistant in the Department of English (Appointment for 8 months) [Ref. T/019/24]

Duties

1. Provide reviews of literature on practices of generative AI use in the legal context and assist with writing project publications;
2. Research, write and test interview questions for professionals and educators on the use of generative AI in legal contexts;
3. Liaise with professionals, educators, project investigators, and a video production team to organize project activities;
4. Organise seminars and a one-day conference;
5. Organise the production of informational videos on generative AI in the legal context; and
6. Maintain a project website and a project YouTube channel and disseminate project findings to legal and higher education communities.

Requirements

1. A Bachelor’s degree in English/Applied Linguistics/Law or a related field, with equivalent professional experience;
2. Excellent command of spoken and written English and proficiency in Chinese is an advantage;
3. Knowledge in theories and concepts in discourse analysis and linguistic pragmatics; and
4. Interest in professional communication and proven book and field research experience would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. For full-time appointment, fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
