Duties

Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Office, the appointee is expected to:

  1. Work closely with the non-local student engagement team to organise activities and events to promote campus internationalisation and integration;
  2. Serve as a staff advisor and work closely with non-local undergraduate student clubs and communities, actively maintain positive work relationships with students, support students in planning and implementing student-led activities;
  3. Provide non-academic advising to students;
  4. Serve as the visa process owner to oversee the operation of the processing work, work closely with both internal and external parties regarding visa related inquiries;
  5. Supervise and support a clerical team to handle the applications to trouble-shoot visa related issues;
  6. Oversee the recruitment and training of student helpers for office counter management with supervising a clerical team to manage daily operation of the office counter;
  7. Administer funding schemes for outbound learning activities, work with academic and administrative units to promote the funding resources to students; and
  8. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

A good Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years’ post-qualification experience. Ability to build positive relationships with students from multicultural backgrounds; strong interpersonal skills to foster a supportive environment for students; good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong organisational and multitasking skills; attentive to details; proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office; and being flexible and adaptable for changes. Experience in designing workflows and facilitating teamwork is an advantage.

Occasional travel is required.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Manager.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
