Position Desription

The Youth Services (YS) team of Mother’s Choice is committed to embracing, equipping, and empowering vulnerable youth and pregnant girls to transform their lives for a hopeful future. Each year, thousands of teenage girls face crisis pregnancy with no support, and thousands of children are in need of a family for a number of reasons including neglect, abuse, abandonment, or family breakdown. We’re here to help the most vulnerable in our community by providing high-quality services for children, youth and families, and actively providing ways to prevent the problem. Our goal is to “break the cycle” so that every child can be with a safe, loving and permanent family.

We are looking for a Program Officer I, Youth Services (Program) who plays a key role in planning and delivering pregnant youth alumni community development and support program to equip and empower youth at-risk of crisis pregnancy and pregnant teenagers with sexual health knowledge, life skills and community network to make informed decisions about their future. S/he also works with internal departments over initiatives to raise public awareness of teenage pregnancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with external partners (NGOs, corporates, educational institutes) for program implementation
  • Maintain accurate records of support program activities including implementing measures / survey in evaluating the effectiveness of project work, logging purchase requisitions and receipts for accurate budgeting and assisting with the preparation of reports
  • Support and co-facilitate in the Baby’s First 100 Days Parenting Training and Baby’s First Year Parenting Training, to empower the teen mums with skills and knowledge to own their new mother roles

2. Implementing Pregnant Girls Home Program (PGH)

  • Coordinate the PGH and YS Familiarization Day for MC new joiners, to help other team members to understand PGS service and enhance collaboration
  • Support and develop the daily programs in PGH, to equip girls with basic concepts of sexuality education, self-care and personal growth

3. Supporting Collaborative Initiatives on Teenage Pregnancy Awareness

  • Coordinate and Support Senior Program Officer in communicating with internal departments and external stakeholders in the execution of community education projects to raise public awareness of the issue of youth crisis pregnancy
  • Coordinate with cross departments to present creative use of materials and multi-channels including digital platforms to engage young people

4. Supporting Youth Services Initiatives
