Research Associate / Research Assistant

The Centre for Communication and Public Opinion Survey (CCPOS) invites applications for the position of Research Associate / Research Assistant.

CCPOS is a Research Unit under the School of Journalism and Communication at CUHK. Established in 2004, the Centre provides a range of research and consultancy services for individual researchers, universities, government and public institutions, non-profit organisations, and businesses. These include telephone survey, online survey, focus group interview, and others. More information about the Centre is available on its website: https://ccpos.com.cuhk.edu.hk/.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree in Social Science (for Research Assistant); or a Master's degree in the abovementioned disciplines plus four years of post-qualification relevant experience (for Research Associate); (ii) strong interpersonal and communication skills; (iii) a self-motivated, well-organised, cooperative, and responsible work attitude; and (iv) high proficiency in Cantonese and English. An excellent command of written English will be an advantage.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) coordinating research projects for CCPOS, which are commissioned by external parties such as government, non-profit organisations, and universities; (b) administering tracking studies projects, industry surveys, and managing budgets; (c) compiling research reports; (d) supervising survey fieldwork; and (e) performing other duties as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years commencing January 2025, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
