About this team

Our Costing team plays an essential part in the lululemon liaison office (LLO). Together with global production and merchandising, quality, business solutions and product creation teams, it's to ensure our products are produced of the highest quality, delivered when we need them, and manufactured with partners who share our commitment to elevating the world.

The team owns the analytics related to costing and comprehends the underlying issues that create complexity for the vendors and the production process. They also support productivity and efficiency by providing leadership and direction to their partners, minimising waste and enhancing operations, and using proven industrial engineering techniques to achieve competitive advantage and improve quality and productivity.

A day in the life:

  • Manage lululemon's Finished Goods standardization library (including yield, thread, smv) by creating guidelines for different product classes to achieve sustainable best cost to the business
  • Support the entire finished goods global vendor base (60+) with costing/construction standards creation and SOPs and ensure vendor consistency.
  • Create tools to assist Sourcing and LLO Merchandising to achieve in-season costing to our negotiated agreements and standards
  • On board new vendors with standardized costing methodology, confirming negotiated agreements (i.e. Profit percentage, CIF, Minute rate) to ensure seamless transition into the vendor matrix
  • Build a network of Costing and Industrial Engineers in-country to execute standards building and ensure vendor adherence
  • Manage costing framework end to end to product at class to achieve best cost to the apparel and accessories business while providing insights to LLO merch / FG Sourcing and external suppliers
  • Manage a team of Costing Engineers to regularly update our standards library with the SOPs and style level standard calculations.
  • Utilize in-region Costing Engineers to educate and align with vendors on costing standards to improve overall transparency
  • Provide potential savings direction to the Sourcing and LLO Merchandising leadership to set targets for upcoming seasons.
  • Drive vendor Costing strategy, as well as Costing team strategy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Apparel Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Textiles or similar, with 12+ years of relevant industry experience. Masters Degree or Certification in advanced garment engineering is a plus
  • You have been an awesome People Leader for over 8 years, inspiring, developing and coaching others. Your leadership skills enable you to motivate cross-culture teams and build high-performing teams
  • Agile, responds positively to change, embraces and employs new practices to accomplish goals and solve problems
  • You have been in a matrix international work environment which requires you to utilize your influencing skills and collaborative efforts fully
  • You have a GSD certification and can challenge manufacturing suppliers in SMV and the best methods
