Senior Engineer

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) facilitate student learning and development, and develop corresponding curriculum and pedagogy;

(b) lead and coordinate student learning modules and subjects, and promote teaching quality among colleagues;

(c) lead and organise research support and knowledge transfer activities;

(d) organise and implement strategic actions, regulations and procedures of the assigned technical team;

(e) lead and organise essential operations of the assigned technical team;

(f) facilitate effective resources deployment and performance evaluation of the assigned technical team;

(g) work closely with stakeholders in the University, industrial partners and clients; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Centre or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree or a higher degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline;

(b) at least five years of solid experience in design engineering. Preference will be given to those with experience in leading the development of minimum viable products involving advanced manufacturing technologies;

(c) good understanding of one or more of the following market sectors: aerospace, robotics, automobiles, machine tools, scientific instruments or healthcare;

(d) proficiency in applying digital tools such as Dassault 3DExperience, Siemens Xcelerator, ANSYS, MATLAB, etc. for modelling and simulation;

(e) ability to work with researchers and students from different backgrounds and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support innovation and entrepreneurial projects; and

(f) a good command of written and spoken English.
