Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer / Associate Technical Officer - Information Technology Services Centre (Ref: STO/TO/ST (ITSC) 2024-11-08)

Responsibilities: 

HSUHK is setting up a cutting-edge Virtual Production Studio and a Multimedia Commons, designed to empower both faculties and students to delve into the latest advancements in extended reality (XR) technologies, media production, storytelling and interactive design.  This innovative space will serve as a hub for exploration and creativity, enabling users to engage with immersive practices that bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds.  A professional team is established to support the Virtual Production Studio and Multimedia Commons, we are currently looking for the positions of Senior Technical Officer, Technical Officer and Associate Technical Officer. The responsibilities of these position are as follows:

• setting up video, audio and lighting equipment for shooting; 
• manage and maintain the virtual production equipment in good condition for live virtual video shows;
• create demonstration videos to showcase the powerful production facilities; 
• offer workshops on the use of facilities and multimedia editing, e.g., Adobe Creative Suite;
• provide support to guide on virtual video production; and
• manage the accounts and storage for users to keep their multimedia projects.

Applicants should:

• possess a bachelor’s degree in creative multimedia, video production, and animation & visual effects, or related disciplines;
• have at least 2 - 5 years of hands-on experience in the following areas:
  • video production, including shooting, lighting, mixing, editing, and post-production, with a focus on integrating animations and special effects to boost marketing efforts
  • Adobe Creative Suite especially Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and AI tools for design and multimedia tasks
  • Unreal Engine for VR content design
  • managing videographers and multimedia designers
  • virtual video production systems such as Disguise©
  • audio production and multimedia editing
  • setup and support of Mac and PC computers 
• have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a customer-oriented mindset with good interpersonal and communication skills; and
• be mature, self-motivated, able to work independently and willing to work on shift duties.

Applicants with a higher diploma in related discipline or less working experience will be considered as Associate Technical Officer.
