Senior Vice President, Claims Advocacy China
SummaryThe role of Claims Advocacy Lead, China will provide expert advice on Client Support Services (CSS) claims matters to achieve appropriate resolution for clients, improve service delivery in the region and performance against key metrics. This role will also work with other members of the CSS APAC Claims Advocacy team, Guy Carpenter Global Claims Consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver projects to achieve CSS and Guy Carpenter regional and global strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Regional Claims Advisory Leader, Asia Pacific, this role will require close collaboration with the rest of the Global Claims Consulting teams in order to identify and address areas which require claims expertise. Ability to foster strong relationships clients, markets and all stakeholders across Global CSS, broking, Legal and Compliance and others in the region would be pertinent.
POSITION SCOPEWe will count on you to:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in reinsurance claims advisory and CSS activities in China.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and providing expert advice.
- Provide expert insights into claims matters and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate resolution.
- Consult with various stakeholders on claims technical insights and provide guidance on complex scenarios utilising all information and resources available.
- Establish, provide insights and utilise claims reports to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with markets.
- Assist in the recovery of claims from markets in China from global Guy Carpenter clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders in broking, broking support, legal and compliance, wording teams and regional offices. Collaborate closely with Global CSS team.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies and industry standards.
- Stay abreast on industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging best practices in claims assessments.
What you need to have:
- Strong experience in claims from a sizeable insurance/ reinsurance organisation. Strong knowledge of market practices within technical domain areas.
- On-the-ground China experience and an existing network within the reinsurance sector.
- A demonstrated knowledge of reinsurance concepts such as terms and contract clauses.
- Strong client orientation mindset with a proven track record in delivering exceptional service to clients.
- Self-motivated and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Track record in handling difficult negotiations. Hands-on experience in managing difficult and challenging client situations.
- Proven ability to manage and network in a global environment. Strong gravitas and presence to influence and build collaborative relationships with global stakeholders.
- A creative and strategic mindset, with strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Resilient and possess the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication in English and Mandarin is required.
- Proficient MS office skills. Able to leverage a range of digital tools and technology to its maximum potential.
