Technical Designer (Bra)

Role Purpose:

Create key bra launches every season that are brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy.

You will also be responsible for ensuring correct fit, consistent fit and quality across the product ranges. You will participate in weekly fit sessions and be responsible for driving fit approvals with fit technician. You will be working directly with our sourcing team and key suppliers to achieve the best material for fit and price for pad development, suggesting technical recommendations for garment construction while keeping design intent and product commercialization. Working closely with your design lead and team, from concept/trend to execution, you will be in the whole process to deliver the best new product for our customer. 

Job Responsibilities:

Drive newness in pad innovation and fit. Elevate product range.

• Aware of bra market trends and be able to identify customer needs to offer solution-based products
• Effectively communicate technical recommendations for better fit and construction. Facilitate conversations to educate designers and buyers 
• Work closely with design lead and team to deliver and execute new fit, shape, and construction in our bra range
• Ability to execute design and fit intent into commercially acceptable development samples 
• Elevate existing styles by enhancing garment hanger appeal through new construction and efficient workmanship
• Responsible for driving pad development and new key bra launches every season 
• Ensure continuous collaboration & communication with cross functional teams on a daily basis
• Bring previous learning and best practices to improve overall design and fit process
• Evaluate fit problems on live model as well as mannequins
•  Ability to create an accurate technical pack including spec sheet, construction sketches, and grading. 
• Responsible and accountable for all concept, proto and design intent approvals (fit, grading, construction, finishing)
• Communicate with factories in a timely manner through clear written comments to illustrate correct fit, construction and workmanship
• Manage sample tracking chart and approvals on a timely manner

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills verbally and in writing
• Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve
• Drives for continual improvement and innovation to enhance product quality
• Strong technical knowledge in garment construction
• Strong patternmaking skills
• Team player 

Education level

•  Associate BA in patternmaking/ design or related field

Experience

• With at least 6+ years of patternmaking, garment manufacturing process and previous experience in pad development and technical design
• Knowledge of Asian intimates fit a must

Skills required

• Entrepreneurial spirit, capability of cross team communication & synergy
• Excellent organizational skills and able to delegate work to handle multiple projects
• Great communication skills verbally and in writing

Language ability

• Fluent in English
• Cantonese & Mandarin (optional)
