Duties
For the post of Accountant, the appointees will be required to:
(i) perform accounting duties of staff claims and payments to suppliers of the University and its subsidiaries, including verifying payments and related tax filings in compliance with the statutory requirements, relevant policies, rules and regulations;
(ii) assist in the daily operations including handling email enquiries and telephone calls timely and tactfully; and
(iii) provide advice to junior staff on tasks with complexity.
For the post of Assistant Accountant, the appointees will be required to:
(i) perform general accounting duties of staff claims and other payments of the University and its subsidiaries;
(ii) handle daily operations including inputting data, processing payments/journals and following up with various units on claims related matters; and
(iii) handle telephone and email enquiries.
For both posts, the appointees will also be required to:
(i) assist in the enhancement of the staff claims and related payment systems;
(ii) handle general office administration; and
(iii) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
(a) a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines;
(b) a professional accounting qualification or equivalent is preferred;
(c) at least two years’ experience in accounting, auditing or other related fields, with experience in claims processing and/or system enhancement being an advantage;
(d) preferably some supervisory experience;
(e) proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(g) good communication and interpersonal skills.
Applicant with less experience and/or qualifications may be considered for the post of Assistant Accountant.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
