Accounting Officer/Accounting Executive, Capital Estate Projects Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office (Ref.: 527540)
The Role
The appointee will assist in the following areas:
- preparation of journal entries, data input, budgetary control matters;
- submission of expenditure claims of capital projects to funding bodies;
- reconciliation of expenses reports and final accounts for capital projects;
- handling claims of government rent and rates for the University;
- preparation of bank reconciliations for month end closing;
- preparation of accounting schedules for year end audits; and
- any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
- 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR minimum Level 2 or equivalent in HKDSEE in 5 subjects including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics;
- at least 5-year work experience preferably in the accounting and auditing field;
- hands-on knowledge of MS Office applications;
- good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- good communication and interpersonal skills; and
- ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
