Job Description

Duties

The appointees will be assigned to different functions (Payment, Receipts and Payroll) within the Finance Office depending on their background and relevant work experience.  Major duties include to:

  1. Perform accounts payable including vendor payments, staff disbursements, and student activities payments;
  2. Handle accounts receivable including issuance of invoices/debit notes and collection of fees and charges;
  3. Process payroll and benefit payment for full-time and part-time staff;
  4. Assist in monthly process for contribution to ORSO/MPF schemes and prepare tax returns;
  5. Prepare general ledger journal entries, schedules and bank account reconciliation; and
  6. Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. 5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with at least 6 years’ relevant experience, preferably in universities/sizeable organisations;
  2. Proficiency in PC applications and strong Excel skills;
  3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
  4. Being self-motivated and attentive to details are required. 
  5. Hands-on experience in Oracle Financials, Banner Students/Payroll or other ERP systems is preferred.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Accounting Officer II.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
