We are looking for high calibre candidates to fill the following positions:
Assistant Land Surveyor
(Ref: 70125)
Job Duties:
- Assist in drafting documents related to management and use of spatial data in Common Spatial Data Infrastructure (CSDI);
- Assist in devising and executing action plans and carrying out checking work to ensure compliance of spatial data against common standards and practices;
- Assist in carrying out ad hoc spatial data analyses, developing prototypes on use of spatial data;
- Study and draw up data standards, technical guidance and workflow for handling spatial data issues and related initiatives;
- Work with spatial data stakeholders to identify, collect, request, manage, use and share of spatial data, and facilitate B/Ds to prepare the Annual Spatial Data Plan (ASDP);
- Take part in various capacity building and engagement activities for CSDI initiatives;
- Take part in land and engineering surveys; and
- Perform other duties as required.
Employment Terms:
- 5 days’ work, Monday – Friday, normally 44 hours per week (including lunch break);
- Work on shift beyond normal working hours and/or on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays may be required subject to operational needs, time-off in lieu will be given;
- Work location: Meinhardt offices or government department.
Requirements:
- A qualification recognized by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) as satisfying the academic requirements for corporate membership in the Land Surveying Division;
- Completed a 2-year graduate training scheme recognized by the HKIS or equivalent;
- Have Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSE or HKCEE or equivalent;
- Proficiency in industry-standard land surveying and GIS related tools, and spatial technology;
- With communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities;
- Good command of spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua;
- Prefer immediately available or with a reasonable short notice.
