Assistant - Buying/Sourcing/Merchandising Manager Wanted:
A unique global sourcing firm working with market-leading and innovative clients in niche developing markets, while also addressing today’s most pressing global macro trends. We are expanding and seeking the right candidates with deep curiosity, common sense, and problem-solving abilities to join our business team and culture to develop new export programs ranging from construction materials and projects, to industrial equipment, household items, and consumables.
We source everything from processed materials, finished goods, and appliances to managing and consulting on industrial projects and equipment systems. We manage supply-chains for global clients who rely on our services to deliver from inquiry/ideation to prototyping, supplier vetting, product specifications, production process and scheduling, quality control, and logistical support.
We have a lean and dedicated HK and China team with deep experience, good team culture, and global reach
We are always taking on new product/project categories, but we are selective in choosing clients & suppliers
We don't believe in constant OT. M-F / 9 AM - 6 PM / Bank Holidays / 13 months Pay / Annual Performance Bonus
Canton Fair - Spring / Fall / We attend each phase for multiple days return to HK and back again next week
Occasional China Factory Visit - Few times a year if that depending on order/project complexity
Responsibilities:
- Apply previous experiences and product knowledge while learning on the job to understand client product specifications and operational needs to engage suitable manufacturers and vendors in China with new and existing products/services.
- Work with Clients, Sourcing team, QC teams, and a wide range of manufacturers in taking business inquiries to product sampling, testing, negotiation, order, delivery, and after-sales service.
- Correspond with and negotiate pricing and product terms with Manufacturers, Clients, and Vendors.
- Develop working product and industry knowledge necessary to complete the above in keeping with company and client needs.
Requirements:
- F.5 or DSE or above
- 2 years of work experience, preferably related to Purchasing, Retail, Product Development, Construction, Renovation, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, and Event Production
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Office Suite
- Disciplined with time management in balancing work priorities, deadlines and multiple projects while being organized
- Hong Kong Entry/Exit Permit to China for attending Import/Export Fairs and factory visits a few times a year
- Able to communicate proficiently in Mandarin and English
- Enjoys learning and applying new skills, self-starter, attentive, detail-oriented, coachable, team-player, responsible, reliable, able to follow instructions and SOPs
