Job Description

Established in 2000, the Department (http://www.LN.edu.hk/cultural/) offers a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Cultural Studies with a strong interdisciplinary orientation.  It admits postgraduate research students leading to the award of MPhil and PhD degrees.  Since 2003, it has been offering a self-financed taught programme leading to the Master degree of Cultural Studies.  The department’s faculty also contribute to the work of the newly established Centre for Cultural Research and Development (https://culturalresearch.center/).

The Department seeks to appoint an Assistant Programme Officer. 

Responsibilities

  • Providing a wide range of administrative support to the management and operation of the Master of Cultural Studies (MCS) programme
  • Handling student matters
  • Managing and maintaining websites
  • Assisting in the logistics of seminars and activities
  • Providing general office administration support
  • Performing any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A Diploma / an Associate Degree / a Degree or an equivalent qualification
  • One to two years’ full-time working experience
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Proficiency in PC operations (MC Office applications)
  • General knowledge in using Dreamweaver and Photoshop
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Some experience of promotional design would be preferable
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Able to work independently and in teams

Appointment

The commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefit and mandatory provident fund.  Appointment will be made on contract basis for up to 12 months.
