Job Description
The postholder will assist the Head of Campus Development to:
- Manage, administer, monitor and co-ordinate construction projects and campus renovation / improvement works from inception to the completion of the projects;
- Evaluate the space requests of the Academy, review the utilisation of space, assist in developing space allocation plans and establishing a space standard for the Academy to maximise the effective use of the campus space;
- Prepare project documents including but not limited to contract documents, tender documents, design drawings, specifications, issuing works orders, purchasing orders, budget plans and construction / implementation programmes;
- Supervise consultants and contractors as well as monitor and manage the performance of consultants and contractors;
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders on space, project and technical matters;
- Enforce proper site management including but not limited to monitoring the progress of works on site, and co-ordinating with consultants, site staff and contractor(s) on implementation of works across various trades in architectural, structural and building services, particularly on prompt consolidation and arrival of a solution to site problems;
- Supervise professional/technical staff and provide professional advice and support; and
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Applicants should:
(a) Possess a recognised degree in Architecture / Building Surveying / Engineering / Quantity Surveying or related discipline with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience;
(b) Be a member of a professional institution, e.g. HKIA, HKIE, HKIS or similar professional bodies;
(c) Have minimum 6 years of project management experience in handling or managing capital works projects and budget control. Experience in a public project will be an advantage;
(d) Be well versed with Hong Kong construction and building-related legislations, government procedures and policies;
(e) Preferably have knowledge in BIM or green building;
(f) Have good interpersonal and presentation skills; and
(g) Have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
