Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President (Production Operations & Technical Support), this position is responsible for developing, monitoring, and implementing quality assurance standards and procedures. Job responsibilities also include ensuring all the changes made to the production application systems are properly controlled.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance
- Develop and maintain the quality assurance standards and procedures.
- Participate in meetings including meetings with development teams and contractors to ensure delivery of quality services and systems.
- Liaise with various departments in IT and Business Development Department on project related items.
- Conduct quality assurance review on project.
- Promote continuous improvement in service and system development
2. Quality Control
- Ensure all changes are authorised, and files and distributes all authorised copies of configuration items. (e.g. project documentation, software version, hardware configuration, design documents, procedure manuals etc.)
- Monitor and ensure the correct version of software is released for testing, and production use.
- Ensure the change management procedure is followed.
3. Administration
- Records and controls all changes made to a configuration item during the development and operational running.
- Records and monitors the present stage and the history of each configuration item throughout its development, modification and use.
- Produce reports on current configuration item and its history in a regular basis.
- Produce management report on change statistics in a regular basis.
- Participate in the meeting with third party contractors and internal team members in planning for any software releases.
- Control and maintain the production password log.
- Maintain a change schedule calendar to record all scheduled changes.
- Maintain and update of the System Problem Reporting database.
Job Specifications:
- Degree or Diploma holder in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 2-3 years’ working experience in Quality Assurance or Configuration Management in IT.
- Experience in System Development Methodologies and Software Project Management is preferred.
- Strong PC skills, competencies in MS Office, MS Project and MS Access Programming are necessary.
- Hand-on experience on PVCS, Visual SourceSafe and FileNET is desirable.
- Knowledge in TQM, ISO 9000, CMM or other quality standards is a plus.
- Familiar with UNIX and Oracle would be an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skill and fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Self-motivated and independent.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
