POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of PMO will be responsible for establishing, leading, and managing the Project Management Organization (PMO) to ensure the successful delivery of projects that align with the company's strategic goals. This role will provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for all project management activities, develop and implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement in project execution. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of managing complex projects in a manufacturing environment and with enterprise clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Develop and implement a comprehensive PMO strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
● Oversee the management of the project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities using data-driven decision-making tools for portfolio optimization.
● Establish and maintain project management methodologies, standards, and strategies to maintain best practices.
● Stay abreast of industry trends
● Provide strategic guidance and leadership to project managers and project teams.
● Ensure consistent application of project management processes across all projects.
● Prioritize projects based on business value, risk, and resource availability.
● Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular reports to senior management.
● Manage project interdependencies and ensure effective resource allocation.
● Provide guidance and support to project managers through all phases of the project lifecycle.
● Ensure successful project delivery by maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
● Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
● Conduct financial analysis on project performance.
● Foster effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
● Promote innovation and creative problem-solving to enhance project outcomes.
● Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing PMO team, managing their performance.
● Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the PMO.
● Implement and maintain KPIs and metrics to measure PMO effectiveness and efficiency.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and conflict resolution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
● Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
● Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in a high tech company with a manufacturing environment.
● Skills: Fluent in English required, fluency in Cantonese preferred.
● PMP, Agile or other relevant project management certification preferred.
● Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
● Proficiency in project management software and tools.
● Experience with budget management and financial analysis.
● Experience with process improvement methodologies.
● Work Environment: Position is based in the Engineering Center in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

● Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
● Must possess a valid passport & driver’s license with no infractions that would limit ability to travel.
