Job Description
Renaissance College is seeking to appoint a Full Time Educational Assistant for the Primary Learning Enhancement Team (LET).
Educational assistants are appointed to work with students with learning needs, either individually, in small groups or in the classrooms. The LET EA role is to support and work alongside teachers both in the Learning Enhancement Team and classroom teachers in the mainstream classrooms.
Responsibilities
- To support the students by working with an individual or groups of students under the direction of the teachers.
- To support the teachers by liaising and feeding back about student progress.
- To support the school by working as a team in promoting the aims, ethos and policies of the School at all times.
- To support professional development opportunities by attending courses and training days whenever possible.
- To be able and comfortable working with students in all areas of the curriculum.
- To ensure that appropriate confidentiality standards are in place and enforced
- To be able to support students with social and emotional needs.
Requirements
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English
- Ability to work effectively under the direction and supervision of year level and learning enhancement teachers
- Contribute to a range of teaching and learning activities
- Good level of understanding and awareness of students’ social, emotional and learning needs
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior
- Work collaboratively as part of a professional team
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to all student information
- Strong IT skills
- Previous experience of inquiry based learning is of benefit
