Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) oversee research projects and external collaborations of the constituent research units of the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR), including the administration of memorandums of understanding, agreements and funding transfers;
(b) manage and ensure the quality assurance of reports and research-related documents from PAIR’s constituent research units;
(c) assist in organising large-scale scholarly events and research activities, such as international conferences, distinguished lectures, exhibitions and signing ceremonies;
(d) assist in data collection and information consolidation;
(e) provide secretarial support to committees and working group meetings;
(f) liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree with at least five year of relevant post-qualification work experience;
(b) have strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, communication and interpersonal skills;
(c) be highly self-motivated and able to work independently;
(d) be well-organised and highly attentive to details;
(e) have the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
(f) have good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and
(g) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.
Preference will be given to those with solid relevant work experience in tertiary institutions.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
