As an English Instructor at our institution, your Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting engaging and interactive English language classes, ensuring effective communication and student engagement. Utilize appropriate teaching methodologies to enhance students' language proficiency.
- Providing guidance and support to students in their academic writing endeavors and related projects. Offer constructive feedback to improve their writing skills and enhance their project outcomes.
- Preparing course materials, including teaching materials and lesson plans, that align with the curriculum objectives. Ensure materials are up-to-date, relevant, and engaging for students.
- Undertaking academic-related administrative duties as assigned, which may include attending academic meetings and other administrative tasks necessary for the smooth functioning of the department.
- Actively participating in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance teaching skills, stay updated with best practices in English language instruction, and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
- Maintaining accurate records of students' progress, including grading assignments and providing timely reports on their performance.
- Acting as a marker and second marker or internal moderator for student assignments and projects, ensuring fair and consistent evaluation. Adhere to assessment guidelines and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Collaborating with colleagues and participating in school projects, functions, accreditation processes, validation exercises, staff development workshops, seminars, and conferences as needed or assigned.
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

We are actively seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as English Language, English Literature, Applied Linguistics, or a related discipline is required. A Master's in a relevant field is highly preferred.;
- Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience at the tertiary level is essential. A professional English teaching qualification such as TESOL or equivalent;
- Candidates with a strong background in English language instruction, including teaching courses such as English Composition, Academic Writing, Literature, or English for Specific Purposes, will be given priority.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes, including familiarity with online teaching platforms and digital resources, is important in our increasingly digital learning environment.
- Experience in advising and mentoring students, as well as participating in academic committees and extracurricular activities, is an asset. We value candidates who can contribute to the holistic development of our students.
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for engaging and inspiring students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment is highly valued.
- Capable of working during weekday evenings and Saturday afternoons
Remarks: Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/ Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
