Job Description
The Fundraising Officer will play a key role in supporting the fundraising team by cultivating and nurturing relationships with current and prospective donors and assisting with wider income generation activities. You will be a passionate advocate for our mission and demonstrate your commitment to increasing our impact in the local community.
Fundraising and Donor Stewardship
Grant Proposals and Communication
- Caft clear and impactful grant proposals to highlight Habitat Hong Kong’s objectives, strategies, and impact across Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region.
- Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with current and prospective donors through regular communication and engagement.
Donor Stewardship
- Provide excellent customer service and address all donor enquiries promptly.
- Use CRM tools to update and maintain accurate donor records.
Fundraising Initiatives
- Collaborate on innovative income-generating activities, i.e. face-to-face fundraising, crowdfunding, campaigns, and social enterprise ideas, to increase and sustain revenue streams.
- Collaborate on supporter materials and volunteering activities for key partners and donors.
Grant Management and Reporting
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate and transparent donor reporting, emphasising, attention to detail, powerful storytelling, and speed to process.
- Monitor partnerships, funding applications, and grants, to meet deadlines and ensure impact reports are provided to funders in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly reports on proposals submitted, grant applications, and fundraising outcomes.
Market research
- Conduct market research on potential donors and philanthropic trends.
- Provide data and research-driven recommendations to optimise and evolve our fundraising initiatives.
Note: The role, whilst clearly defined, is part of a fast-moving and evolving organisation and as such, the related responsibilities may need to adapt as the team grows. Any changes will be discussed with the individual but should be recognised as part of the exciting environment within which Habitat Hong Kong operates.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Higher Diploma / Associate Degree / Degree holder in Marketing, Business, Event Management or other related discipline.
- Proficient in MS Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing).
- Proficiency in English and Chinese.
- Experience using databases for donor management; knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and cross-culturally.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in fundraising, customer service, marketing, events and business development will be an advantage. Candidates who are passionate about working in the non-profit sector and with relevant experience gained from other sectors/industries are also welcome to apply.
Working Hours
We have flexible working arrangements for all staff. Our work week is Monday-Friday, with staff required to work on some Saturdays/Sundays as is required for specific roles, programme, event and/or project needs.
