Head of IT

Major Responsibilities

• Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
• Support teaching and learning activities (e.g. IT and STEAM education and development) of the Primary and Secondary Divisions and to provide solutions to enhance teaching and learning
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
• Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
• Oversee the usage of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
• Lead the IT team, supervise and provide guidance to IT technicians/ assistants to provide effective and efficient services
• Control budget and report on expenditure
• Manage all IT infrastructure and IT and AV equipment including PC stations, desktops, laptops, large server capacity/infrastructure, and audio-visual equipment, etc.
• Establishes measures for the performance and effectiveness of individual and team efforts as well as identifying areas for improvement of service

Requirements

• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus;
• Proven experience as Head of IT or similar role
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
• Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
• Experience in controlling information technology budget
• Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills
