Job Description

Information Technology Officer I/II in the Office of the Senior Vice‑President (Innovation and Enterprise) [Ref. B/912/03]

Duties

  1. Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of IT facilities and equipment, including software and hardware, networks and servers;
  2. Provide day-to-day technical support/troubleshooting services related to IT matters;
  3. Facilitate the procurement of IT facilities and equipment for the Office;
  4. Maintain close communication and collaboration with internal units, particularly with the Computer Services Centre, as well as liaise with external vendors on related matters;
  5. Build, maintain and enhance the Office’s websites;
  6. Carry out technical assistance and support to meetings, seminars, events and activities; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related disciplines with at least 5 years’ solid administrative experience;
  2. High proficiency in various operating systems, such as Linux, Windows, Windows Server, Mac OS, etc, with a good command of common desktop applications;
  3. Strong analytical, good interpersonal and communication skills;
  4. Being proactive and adaptable to changes;
  5. Ability to work independently and as a team and under pressure; and
  6. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage.

Candidates with more than 7 years’ experience may be considered for appointment as Information Technology Officer I.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
