As The Third Line Of Defense, Internal Audit’s (IA) Mission Is To Independently Assess The Firm’s Overall Control Environment, Including The Firm’s Governance Processes And Controls, And Risk Management, Capital, And Anti-financial Crime Frameworks. In Doing So, IA

  • Communicates and reports on the effectiveness of the firm’s governance, risk management and controls that mitigate current and evolving risk
  • Raise awareness of control risk
  • Assesses the firm’s control culture and conduct risks; and
  • Monitors management’s implementation of control measures

Goldman Sachs IA is organized into global teams comprising business and engineering audit professionals, and non-audit professionals covering business unit management, data analytics, and reporting and analysis.

Your Impact

The Internal Audit Business Unit Management Team (BUM) manages a broad set of people and operating activities to achieve divisional priorities in support of the Global IA COO and aligned Audit Directors. The Regional BUM team serves as a single point-of-contact for IA Asia teams and IA Asia leadership for key operations activities in the region and collaborate globally with other IA BUM teams and divisional operations globally to drive commercial outcome efficiently.

Responsibilities

The candidate will support the Regional IA Chief Operating Officer (COO) and work closely with Asia IA Senior Leadership to drive efficiency and optimization of IA and other related operations practices in the region. The candidate will work on a broad set of responsibilities to support the Regional COO including, but not limited to:

  • Assist in project managing key regional initiatives, events and people and operational activities that enhances efficiency and branding of the region, including Asia annual audit planning, divisional recruiting and on-boarding, and planning and execution of regional townhall and leadership meetings and visits, and compilation of regional CAO updates and governance matrices.
  • Act as a central point of contact and coordinate regulatory inquires and inspection responses to ensure timely, efficient, and consistency for the regular regulatory submission of IA documents.
  • Drive operations activities such as coordination with other divisions for e.g., recruiting, and real estate, training coordination and spent management such as travel and other expenses including initial review, request compilation, spend forecast, and facilitation of COO approvals.

Basic Experiences And Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or other quantitative discipline
  • 4 to 5 years of experience in audit, financial analysis, accounting, operational management.
  • Excellent project manager with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Driven, highly organized and detail oriented with sound multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially in Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Experiences And Qualifications

  • Understanding and experience with the audit function is preferred.
  • Experienced in audit handling regulatory inquiries is an advantage
  • Japanese language proficiency is an advantage
