The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. Major Duties:
The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department, engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services.
Requirements:
The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Chinese Medicinal Pharmacy, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical science, or related fields; with at least 4 years’ of teaching experience at tertiary level and/or experience in phytochemistry, pharmacology of Chinese medicine or related professional practice in the relevant fields. Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching, research project supervision, and/or coaching of academic writing. He/she should have good communication and interpersonal skills, and high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua. Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage.
Notes:
(1) The post of Lecturer I/II is in the rank of Teaching Fellow I/II.
(2) Applicants with a recognised Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline but less experience will be considered for the post of Lecturer II.
(3) The Medium of Instruction (MOI) for the post is Cantonese.
(4) Candidates may be appointed on fractional term or short-term employment.
(5) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(6) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
