The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi or Institute) offers 22 innovative degree programmes across our 6 Academic Departments, namely Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology, that are vocationally and professionally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and also accredited by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. THEi prepares Work Ready, Future Ready graduates through our strong applied degree and professional education programmes. All programmes require work integrated learning (WIL) and engage students inactive learning pedagogies including a strong focus on project-based learning involving real-world problem solving with and for local industries and professions. THEi partners closely with industry to provide intensive internship and project opportunities. Students also actively participate in knowledge exchange activities to develop professional insights. Major Duties:

The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services.

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree in Film Production, Cinematic Art, CG Animation, Visual Effects, Art Technology or related fields. He/she should preferably have teaching experience at the tertiary level and/or industrial experience in relevant fields (at least 4 years’ work experience for the post of Part-time Lecturer). Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications may also apply. Desirable areas of specialties include:

(a) Screen Writing, Storytelling, Adaptation

(b) Film Production, Cinematic & Lighting

(c) Media Production Development, Marketing Distribution

(d) Animation Production, Motion Graphic

(e) 360-Video Production, Virtual Reality, Immersive Experience

(f) Unreal Engine, Virtual Production

He/she should have good interpersonal and presentation skills; High proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:

(1) The post of Lecturer II is in the rank of Teaching Fellow II.

(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, including Saturdays and Sundays.

(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

(4) The appointee will work on Chai Wan and Tiu Keng Leng Campus.
