OFFICE OF INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

Manager (Development) (Ref. 241108008-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) assist in designing and implementing fund raising programmes and initiatives for major gifts and University’s strategic development;

(b) prepare fundraising proposals, reports and communication materials;

(c) assist in identifying prospects, cultivating and engaging major donors;

(d) provide stewardship of donors and aftercare service to donation projects with the aim to maximising the donation impact and encouraging future support;

(e) plan and organise fundraising activities/ceremonies/events to engage/recognise donors;

(f) provide assistance to staff members from faculties/departments/offices in fundraising matters; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office and/or his/her designates from time to time.

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours for attending meetings and/or participating in fundraising events/activities occasionally.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree in a related discipline;

(b) possess at least five years of solid working experience at supervisory/management level in communications, public relations, development and/or relationship marketing, with experience in fundraising of higher education institutions being an advantage;

(c) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua;

(d) have strong planning/organising abilities and problem-solving skills;

(e) be highly motivated and result-oriented;

(f) be willing to work under tight schedules;

(g) be attentive to details; and

(h) be a good team player with excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
