Job Description

Duties

Reporting to the Associate Director/Senior Manager of Campus Development, the appointee will be one of the key team members of the design management team to implement the University’s vision and mission. S/he will play a key role in various capital and alteration projects from designing to implementation and delivery. Main duties include to:

  1. Lead the planning of interior design projects and prepare users’ requirements with innovative and sustainable interior design to achieve an engaging learning environment within the University;
  2. Manage and execute interior design projects, ensuring alignment with the University’s vision and mission through regular review and updates;
  3. Assist in establishing initial interior design concepts and offer planning advice by conducting feasibility studies and exploring design schemes;
  4. Review ongoing projects and provide guidance to ensure project objectives are achieved and maintain high quality in workmanship;
  5. Monitor and report on the progress and quality of interior projects for new developments, redevelopments, and renovations;
  6. Offer advice on interior design elements, address on-site issues, and oversee project planning and implementation;
  7. Review and coordinate interior design plans, supervise contractors and workers to ensure compliance with design requirements;
  8. Coordinate among interior design consultants, contractors, users, and in-house units; and
  9. Perform any other duties as required.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related disciplines, with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”);
  2. At least 10 years’ relevant experience;
  3. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  4. Being confident and innovative with strong design-oriented thinking, good presentation and organisational skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and a creative approach to problem solving;
  5. Being self-motivated for performance enhancement, with proven management and leadership ability to complete tasks within tight schedules; and
  6. Substantial experience in higher education institutions and/or in managing government subvention projects, as well as proficiency in computer-aided design and graphic software are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
