Role Description
This senior role involves overseeing firm-wide marketing and business development initiatives across all practice areas, with direct reporting to the Partners. Primary objectives include supporting fee earners in developing targeted account-based marketing campaigns and facilitating cross-selling initiatives. Additionally, you will drive thought leadership and social media strategy.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead in the development and execution of marketing/BD initiatives across the various practice areas
- Track business activities of fee-earners
- Manage and assist in developing local and international business and legal contact networks
- Identify client opportunities and develop cross-practice services
- Track trends and developments of various practice areas
- Negotiate sponsorship deals
- Maintain up-to-date reports on awards, achievements and rankings of each practice area
- Prepare regional practice-related submissions for legal directories
- Working with fee-earners to prepare pitch documentation, including developing proposal support materials.
- Develop marketing materials required by fee-earners including internal and external content
- Process media requests and make appropriate recommendations
- Research thought leadership opportunities
- Assist partners with client opportunities and responsible for internal and external client events, conferences and seminars
- Assist with internal training and development programmes
- Responsibility for management of external communications
- Responsibility for brand guidelines
- Develop and implement CRM strategies to drive customer retention and acquisition
- Maintain and update the CRM system to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Train staff on CRM best practices and usage
Requirements / Experience
- Minimum of five years of managerial experience in marketing or business development; experience working in a professional services environment is preferable
- Client service focussed, able to effectively manage a team and work independently
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, strong drafting skills
- Chinese language is not essential but preferred
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities; multi-tasker, flexible mind-set, positive approach, effective negotiation skills and a good team player
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- Skilled in MS Office applications, with some experience in using communications and SEO/Affiliates tools
- Able to plan, forecast, manage and report budgets
