Mechanical Engineer

Summary of the Position:

We are in search of a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in both 2D drafting and electrical CAD design. The successful candidate will be proficient in creating detailed 2D drawings, electrical schematics, and other related tasks for our physical product line. This role involves supporting the lead project designer, collaborating with a diverse team of designers, and integrating work across various disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting & Design:Produce accurate 2D mechanical drawings and electrical schematics using CAD software. Ensure all designs meet the required specifications and standards. Create electrical bill of materials. 
• Collaboration:Work closely with engineers and other draftsmen to translate conceptual designs into detailed CAD drawings and wiring diagrams. Revise drawing packages per customer comments and re-submit for approval. 
• Documentation:Maintain thorough documentation of all design drafts and revisions, ensuring a clear audit trail and easy retrieval of information. Maintain engineering drawing databases and support the engineering change process by updating existing and creating new documentation. 
• Quality Assurance:Review all drawings for completeness, and compliance with industry and company standards before submission. 
• Miscellaneous:Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in product design. Assist with project documentation, product photography, training/assisting other designers/students, and performing other duties as assigned.

Require Experience:

• Associate degree in technical drafting or drafting certifications a minimum;
• At least 2 years of relevant experience;
• Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills;
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD for 2D drafting and electrical design applications like AutoCAD Electrical;
• Ability to produce precise and detailed drawings that meet technical specifications and standards;
• A portfolio showcasing a range of 2D and electrical CAD projects (link to be included with application).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D modelling software and Electrical CAD tools such as Solidworks, Onshape.
• Understanding of electrical systems and components.
• Working proficiency in English; and Mandarin/Cantonese are a major plus.
