Part-time Teaching Assistant, HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute(Ref. 531370) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (to commence as soon as possible for seven months on a temporary term contract)

HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute, a strategic collaboration between The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), aspires to establish as a world-class hub for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) best practices for Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. Bringing together distinguished global scholars from diverse fields, our mission is to foster a multidisciplinary approach to ESG research and training, as well as to forge partnerships with private and public sectors for sustainability initiatives and responsible leadership advocacy.

Applicants must be a candidate of Ph.D. or MPhil in finance. They should be adept at both independent and collaborative work, with preference given to those experienced in sustainability research. They should demonstrate a passion for sustainable practices. A proven track record of research output and experience in knowledge sharing in a multidisciplinary environment is essential.  The ideal candidate should also be proficient in written and spoken English is essential, with a good command of Chinese, possesses strong research skills and experience in sustainability topics, with excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities as well as the ability to work independently and manage administrative tasks effectively. 

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • conduct research on sustainability topics, produce academic publications, research proposals and reports;
  • prepare research summaries based on research papers and findings;
  • review and filter academic papers to identify relevant studies;
  • participate in departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing projects;
  • support in developing course materials and content projects for finance-related subjects;
  • stay updated with emerging trends, making recommendations for improvements and enhancements; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

The successful candidate will be required to work at the HKU campus and may be required to work outside normal office hours and on weekends. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
