Job Description

The appointee will join a research project titled “Developing Hong Kong students’ critical thinking-driven prompt engineering education for enhanced self-efficacy and problem-solving ability in the AI era: A design-based research approach.” This project aims to propose a critical thinking-driven prompt engineering (CTPE) educational framework and a set of human-AI interactive learning design principles based on collected feedback. Additionally, the project will evaluate and validate the CTPE educational framework for its impact on students’ learning self-efficacy and problem-solving ability. 

The appointee will be responsible for supporting the project. He/she will assist in building AI chatbots experiment design, searching literature, analyzing learners’ trace data, conversation record with chatbot, survey and interview data, writing the reports, managing administrative work, supervising part-time research assistant and doctoral students, and performing other duties as assigned by the project leader(s).

Applicants for Post-doctoral Fellow should have a Doctoral degree in education technology or computer science, plus good publication record and track record in research experience. Applicants should have strong leadership and coordination skills to manage projects in team settings, and the ability to handle challenging situations tactfully, strong presentation and negotiation skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, with strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills, a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese. Knowledge in statistical analysis software (e.g. MPlus, Stata, R studio, Python) and experience in social network analysis would be an advantage. The initial appointment will be for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
