Postdoctoral Fellow (two posts) (Ref. 241115019)

[Appointment period: each for twelve to thirty-six months]

Duties

The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Remote sensing of urban climate, ecosystem and environment”.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification in Remote Sensing, GISci, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Geography, Urban Planning, Sustainability, Urban Science, Geoscience, Environmental Science, Ecology, Meteorology, Climatology, Natural Resources, Agricultural, Forest Engineering, Economics, Global Change or a related field and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.

Applicants should also have:

(a) a good command of both written and spoken English; and

(b) at least two first-authored publications in English.

Preference will be given to those with:

(a) strong background in quantitative methods, statistics, computer / data science, geospatial data analysis and modeling, AI and machine learning;

(b) experience in AI and geospatial computer version algorithms;

(c) advanced skills in scientific computing with Python and R;

(d) experience in high-performance and cloud computing for data processing;

(e) the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research team;

(f) strong publication record; and

(g) experience in research proposal writing.
