The candidate for this role will be tasked with developing strategies and solutions that have the potential to transform current business models and/or create new revenue streams in client facing hardware for the apparel organization. Successful individuals will work with technical sales, technical development, information technology, and marketing organizations to develop new solutions that unlock new opportunities. The PLM will develop integrated printing/data management solutions for our clients, and be responsible for sizing the overall market, understanding the competitive landscape, and developing tools that make clear our value proposition and drive profitable sales. As a thought leader, successful candidates will also identify potential disruptors and challenge the organization to evaluate solutions that challenge our portfolio and drive innovative solutions for our clients.
The selected candidate for the role will:
- Collaborate with Hardware Technology technical development, marketing, technical sales teams and external partners to develop a portfolio of hardware products that deliver industry leading solutions, ensuring seamless integration and execution across the product lifecycle.
- Demonstrate thought leadership on new technology and innovation while addressing the challenges in the apparel industry through our hardware strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand and identify emerging technologies and their impact on our clients/solutions in the market. Identify potential partnership or venture investment opportunities for further evaluation.
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for new product development, line extensions, or strategic acquisitions.
- Manage the financial performance of responsible products, including costs, revenue and profitability, and strategic decisions to optimize the portfolio.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of responsible products and inform future decision-making.
- Represent the company's hardware products to external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader, providing guidance and insights to the executive team and cross-functional stakeholders for responsible products.
- Ensure alignment with overarching corporate strategy including sustainability, compliance, intellectual property, and digital connectivity.
- Provide training and insights to the broader organization, ensure commercial teams have the right tools to enable revenue.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the hardware product line management team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, or marketing or sales, with a proven track record of leading and growing successful product lines.
- Knowledge of hardware design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
- Excellent strategic planning, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in data analysis and using data-driven insights to drive decision-making.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to think creatively, innovate, and execute on new product opportunities.
- Familiarity with the latest hardware technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
- Excellent writing skills and strong experience creating slides for commercial and internal training
- Excellent organizational and people skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner
- Ability to solve problems through effective communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
- Possible travel as needed (approx 20%): both domestic and international
- Have an eye for detail and working in an organized fashion, maintaining product and project progress records
- Assertive, persistent and flexible to work in a matrixed, fast paced organization
- Self-discipline and urgency (sense of time pressure and motivation to complete activities)
