Senior Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain relational and non-relational database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to support business applications.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and schema design.
• Build and integrate systems to ensure reliable data flow and interoperability across platforms.
• Manage and transform large datasets, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and availability.
• Implement and enforce security measures, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to databases, systems, and security protocols.
• Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and security policies.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance performance and security.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on databases, systems, data management, and security.
• Strong proficiency in database technologies (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, NoSQL) and database design principles (e.g., normalization, data modeling).
• Experience with system architecture and integration (e.g., APIs, microservices, cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• In-depth knowledge of data management, including ETL processes, data warehousing, and data pipeline development.
• Proven expertise in security practices, such as secure coding, authentication, authorization, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Snowflake).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Docker).
• Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., CISSP, AWS Certified Database Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator).
• Experience working in SaaS platforms is a plus.
