Duties include but not limited to:
- Demonstrate full understanding of lighting design techniques and lighting market to base or influence design decisions
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the lighting design aligns with the overall project vision
- Lead the lighting design process for major projects, from concept development to final installation
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the lighting design aligns with the overall project vision
- Develop comprehensive lighting plans, specifications, and design documentation
- Oversee the work of lighting designers and assistants
- Provide mentorship to other team members
- Ensure projects meet all relevant building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability requirements
- Demonstrate full understanding of lighting design techniques and lighting market to base or influence design decisions
- Manage the lighting design budget and timeline for assigned projects
- Provide expert lighting design advice and make recommendations to clients
- Assist the Lighting Design Manager for marketing presentations to create, build and maintain business opportunities
Skills and Experience:
- Higher Diploma holder or above in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or Related field
- 5+ years of experience as a professional lighting designer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Able to complete all stages of the project independently.
- Ability to communicate design concepts effectively, responsibly in an highly organized manor
- A supportive team player.
- Competent in AutoCAD and PhotoShop
- Expert knowledge of lighting principles, technologies, and industry best practices
- Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g. DIALux, Lighting Reality, AGi32)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
- Understanding of electrical systems, lighting controls, and energy efficiency measures
- Ability to interpret and apply building codes and regulations
- Excellent collaboration and client management abilities
- Ambitious and self-motivated with a desire for personal and professional growth.
- Proficient in both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and English.
