Location: Sheung Wan

Roles & responsibilities:

• Identify viable solutions on the existing systems;
• plan and coordinate with team members on the implementation of new application system;
• ensure system components are accomplished with required control process;
• collect and identify functional requirements to translate user expectations in technical specification;
• plan and identify the required resources and risk associated for the implementation of new systems; and
• control coding quality and collaborate with other Divisions/Offices in system implementation and resolve issues/problems encountered in operation.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

• a recognized degree in Information Technology (IT) or equivalent;
• at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably of which 2 years in supervisory level;
• knowledge of SDLC software development tools, database technology, programming language knowledge on Microsoft/Oracle platform and solid experience in web development in Unix and Windows platform; mobile application on iOS and Android;
• strong analytical skill and good interpersonal manner;
• proficient in English and Chinese language;
• preferably well-versed in health informatics with solid experience in developing healthcare-specific IT solutions and systems for the public; and
• strong leadership, communication and technological skills, paired with an open and innovative mindset to lead a team towards the successful execution of IT projects.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience.  The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.  Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.  The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
