TEACHER OF BIOLOGY (MATERNITY COVER) - (SECONDARY SCHOOL - ENGLISH INTERNATIONAL STREAM)
11 November 2024 to 23 March 2025
The successful candidate will be able to teach Biology to the UK I/GCSE and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. Relevant experience in these, or comparable courses is desirable. In addition to experience in Biology, the ability to teach Physics to lower secondary students would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is dedicated to enabling each child to achieve the highest possible standards through inspirational teaching. The successful candidate will teach a minimum of 16 lessons per week. If the successful candidate has experience in teaching Physics, this may increase to 20 lessons per week.
What is required and what we’re looking for

Teaching qualification and suitable academic qualifications in the subject area

3 years, or more, teaching experience preferred

A willingness to contribute to the development of our taught programme in Biology and the wider Science provision at GSIS is required

Experience of, or knowledge of, the IB Diploma Programme in Biology would be advantageous
-
As above, the ability to offer Physics to younger secondary students would be advantageous
-
Experience of teaching aspirational and high achieving students is desirable

Excellent English speaker with sound written and oral communication skills (native speaker level)

Culturally sensitive, tolerant and patient

Positive, proactive and independent work ethic
