Teaching Consultant (Student Learning Advisor)

Teaching Consultant (Student Learning Advisor) in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences (Appointment up to 30 June 2025) [Ref. T/068/24]
Duties
 

1. Provide academic and personalised support to the students under the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission Scheme;
2. Plan, coordinate, and organise local and non-local student development activities of the Department, including Student Chapter, student mentoring, and student advising arrangements;
3. Provide high-quality training for students to prepare them as future leaders; and
4. Coordinate community servicing activities with different stakeholders.

Requirements
 

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a major in Psychology/Social Work/Sociology/Criminology or related disciplines. A Master’s degree or a Doctoral/PhD degree will be an asset for consideration;
2. Experience in providing academic advising or mentoring for students in the tertiary education sector;
3. Good command of English and Chinese;
4. A strong growth mindset and commitment to student development;
5. Excellent communication, collaboration, and people skills to work with internal and external stakeholders; and
6. A long-term interest in sports would be a plus.

Salary and Conditions of Service
